Ramadan Mubarak!

In accordance with the most common Islamic ruling adopted in North America by followers of the four Imams of Ahlus-Sunnah, the Islamic Center of Morrisville (ICM) will announce start of Ramadan on confirmed report of Crescent viewing in any part of the world, innShaAllah.

ICM decided to follow global moonsighting based on the following hadith of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him:

Narrated By Abdullah Ibn Umar (radhiAllahu Anhu) : I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “When you see it (the crescent of the month of Ramadan), start fasting; and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can’t see It) then then complete the number (of thirty)”. [Sahih Bukhari Volume 3, Book 31, Hadith Number 124].

Therefore, we will wait and announce beginning of the month of Ramadhan after receiving a confirmed sighting report.
